While mostly visited during guided heli tours, Barron Yurt offers DIY options and allow for access to various zones within an hour tour from the yurt's front door.
The yurt is 30 feet in diameter with two levels and comfortably accommodates 8 guests and 2 guides. A wood stove with plenty of firewood, filtered-water system, gear drying racks, propane cook stove, well-stocked kitchen, generator-powered propane lights, single and queen size bunks, two futon couches and dining table provide ultimate backcountry creature comforts. Your guides serve up fully-catered, wholesome meals prepared by the Mazama Store (accommodating all dietary needs) - just bring your beverages of choice and kick back in style after shredding powder all day! Downstairs includes an indoor bathroom and toilet plus a gravity shower, and there is an outhouse as well.
Please contribute a trip report to share your experience for those who visit after you! This not only helps fellow riders, but it also helps hutkeepers ensure that the huts remain in good operating condition.
