A two-structure camp new to the Wallowa's, Schneider Camp touts the deepest snowpack in the range and marks the southern terminus of a future hut-to-hut traverse connecting the towns of Halfway & Joseph.

Schneider Camp boasts the Wallowa’s deepest snowpack, sitting at ~6,000' on a private 160-acre inholding surrounded by National Forest land
The approach begins with a 6-mile snowmachine ride on a road groomed and maintained by the local Panhandlers’ Snowmobile Club. The camp's location makes this the ideal location for those that enjoy both skiing and snowmobiling, or a combination of both. There are nearby skiing options ranging from short, 400' laps to 1k' descents.
Please contribute a trip report to share your experience for those who visit after you! This not only helps fellow riders, but it also helps hutkeepers ensure that the huts remain in good operating condition.
