As one of the highest elevation huts of its kind, Weston Pass Hut faces an open valley with stunning views of Mount Holy Cross and the surrounding mountains – terrain ranges from steep bowls to mild slopes, all within a short tour from the hut.

Between the altitude, elevation gain, and exposed approach – getting to Weston Pass Hut is a strenuous but awarding adventure. While the hut is accessible by snowmobile and other snowmachines, previous experience operating in this area is highly advised. Since cell service is nonexistent on the approach and at the hut, visitors should have an emergency communication plan in place.
The hut is inspired by European style ski huts and underground earth structures – three walls and the roof are covered with earth, which helps the hut blend into its surroundings and provides natural insulation. Since the hut’s roof is covered with fragile tundra, it's important guests refrain from climbing onto / standing on the roof.
Though the hut has a maximum overnight occupancy of 20 people, please be sure to arrive at the hut early if you have a preferred sleeping arrangement in mind. The floor plan offers four rooms (up to 4 persons/room) and additional sleeping options in the common area. The bedding options are provided on a first come first serve basis, as well
Please contribute a trip report to share your experience for those who visit after you! This not only helps fellow riders, but it also helps hutkeepers ensure that the huts remain in good operating condition.
