The hut was pristine when we arrived, and the group before us left a whole bunch of pitchers full of filtered water. The wood-fired oven and stove were awesome, the hut has a well-stocked kitchen with plenty of dishes for our whole group of 15 and plenty of space. The views from the hut are amazing. The mattresses are some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on in a hut. Overall, a delight.

The snow was amazing! It was snowing on and off the whole time we were there, leaving about 8" of light, fresh powder for us to ski each morning. We stayed out of avalanche terrain the entire time, just going up the low-angle side of Galena Ridge and back down as well as skiing some of the low-angle slopes just around the hut. It was really nice to have some chill, safe dad turns close to the hut and to be able to get back to the hut for lunch and then head out again for an afternoon/evening tour.

The weather was variable - sometimes snowing hard with strong gusts and otherwise sunny and beautiful. It stayed cold enough to keep that snow light, but not too cold. We heard a couple of loud whumphs, but were outside of avalanche terrain and didn't see any avalanches close to the hut. A couple of impressive cornices on Galena Ridge were forming while we were there.
