The Barnard Hut straddles a timbered and gladed ridge with easterly views of the Continental Divide and the Sawatch Range. While snowmachines aren't allowed near the Braun Huts, this hut sits near the Richmond Ridge Road, which is open to snowmobile use from the Aspen Mountain Ski Area.
Barnard Hut was built in 1967, in memory of Marsh Barnard, and fully renovated in 2000.
Please contribute a trip report to share your experience for those who visit after you! This not only helps fellow riders, but it also helps hutkeepers ensure that the huts remain in good operating condition.
