Unlike many backcountry huts, Lost Trail Lodge is moreso a amenity-and character-full lodge for large groups. But, don't let comfots like proper beds & bathtubs fool you, as there are plenty worthwhile lines dropping from behind the lodge.

Lost Trail is a private lodge tucked into Cold Stream Canyon outside Truckee, CA, offering a more comfortable backcountry stay than is typically expected with backcountry ski huts.
At Lost Trail, guests can choose to book the whole lodge (up to 12 people), the East Wing (up to 6 people), or the West Wing (up to 6 people). All stays include meals which are built into the nightly rate, and meal service is provided on Arrival Day (afternoon snack, dinner, dessert), each trip day (breakfast, afternoon snack, dinner, dessert), and departure day (breakfast). A Campfire Ranch host/chef is on-site the entire stay (in separate sleeping quarters), so you’ll have full privacy, with support when you need it.
Pets are allowed, but there is a limit of up to 2 pets per reservation; a nightly charge of $50/per pet will be applied to your reservation, and pets may not be left unattended during your stay. Other tip add-ons include guided day touring, cat-assisted ski touring, and private cat skiing/riding.
Please contribute a trip report to share your experience for those who visit after you! This not only helps fellow riders, but it also helps hutkeepers ensure that the huts remain in good operating condition.
